Two paintings to be exhibited together, one being the mirror image of the other.

I work in oil on linen with a romantic and intuitive purpose to express atmosphere and mood in my paintings. MIRRORED CARISBROOK is a mirror image diptych taken from an original series of smaller paintings that were made after experiencing a rare heavy rain event in the Otways with all the waterfalls running. Later, as I sat on the couch at home with one of these small paintings directly opposite, I noticed another reflected in an adjacent mirror unexpectedly placing them side-by-side. MIRRORED CARISBROOK was born. A chance encounter with a mirror and the right spot on the couch became the inspiration to take a further step in my ongoing investigation of the allure of painting water in the landscape.
