I was inspired to make this painting now that I have developed a closer relationship with the landscape of central Victoria. I have been able to spend a lot of time in and around Clunes and this area is rapidly becoming the focus of my inspiration. I visited Mount Beckworth State Park and was inspired to combine my love for the conservation of habitat with a lifelong fascination with fallen trees that would make exceptional firewood.
